CAPITAL: BANGUI, CENTRAL AFRICA REPUBLIQUE
On March 14, 2020, the first case of Covid-19 was confirmed in the Central African Republic, which was imported from Italy. Since then, the country has been facing severe social and economic crises, leading to extreme poverty for many middle-class and vulnerable families. Private companies and humanitarian organizations have had to reduce their activities, close their offices, and lay off staff due to the lack of activity and unnecessary expenses.
The majority of Central African households rely on daily income, such as street vendors, young motorcycle drivers, and women in the market. This situation has left many families unable to pay their rent, feed themselves, and afford basic necessities such as electricity, water, and medicine.
Unfortunately, the rate of Covid-19 infections is increasing every day in Bangui and the provinces. Due to insufficient humanitarian funds and benefactor donors, we have decided to suspend all our activities in Bangui and the provinces until further notice. However, our offices in the West Africa region and DRC remain operational for any inquiries. Please contact us via our website www.jairevefoundation.org or email if you need to reach us.
